Dance organisations
Below are the contact details of some respected dance organisations. They will be able to provide you with information such as local dance schools in your area.
Royal Academy of Dance RAD is the organisation most recognised for ballet. They offer examinations in classical ballet. The memberships department can send you a list of local RAD Dance Teachers, but this information will soon be on their website too. International Dance Teachers Association The IDTA offer many different styles of dance, from ballet and tap, to ballroom and Latin American. Their website contains listings of local dance schools, as well as “Funky Moves”, a special section just for kids. Website: www.idta.org.uk Telephone: 01273 685652
Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing The ISTD offer a range of dance styles and examinations, from ballet & Greek to South Asian dance. They have a special children’s website www.dance-kids.org. Website: www.istd.org Telephone: 020 7377 1577
