BRB nominated for TMA Award
October 6, 2006
Birmingham Royal Ballet have been nominated for a TMA Theatre Award in the category Achievement in Dance. The nomination is specifically for BRB's performances of The Firebird, which BRB performed in Birmingham in May to critical and public acclaim.
The TMA Awards, are presented by the Theatrical Management Association to recognise achievement in the industry. The ceremony this year is to be held on Sunday 15 October at Hampstead Theatre, London.
BRB are up against two other nominees; Flamenco guitarist Paco Peña for A Compás!, and Les Ballets Trocadero de Monte Carlo.
The Firebird forms part of the Company's Stravinsky! a Celebration 2006 mixed bill, touring the UK this autumn. The bill is completed by Kim Brandstrup's newly choreographed Pulcinella, and George Balanchine's Apollo.
