BRB receives nominations for classical output

Birmingham Royal Ballet has been nominated for a string of awards following a string of publicly and critically acclaimed performances around the country.
The awards, nominated for performances earlier in the year, recognise the Company's classical repertory, with the Winter performances of Sir Peter Wright's The Sleeping Beauty at the Lowry Theatre, Salford, having been nominated for the Manchester Evening News Theatre Award for Dance.
The Company have also received a nomination in the Company Prize for Outstanding Repertoire (Classical) category, from the Critics Circle National Dance Awards, recognising BRB's output over the past twleve months.
Individual dancer have also been highlighted by the Critics Circle, with Principal Chi Cao and First Artist Tyrone Singleton going head to head in the Outstanding Male or Female (Classical) category.
The Critics Circle awards, in collaboration with the Royal Opera House and Sadler's Wells, will take place at Sadler's Wells Theatre, London, at the end of January, The MEN award ceremony is due to take place in Manchester during the first week of December.
