Development Director appointed at Birmingham Royal Ballet

In order to effect a major restructure of its development activities, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Britain’s premiere touring ballet company announces the appointment of its new Development Director, Geoff Sweeney.

Currently Director of Development at Derby Playhouse, Sweeney will join BRB on July 3 to establish a dedicated development department aimed at increasing the scope and levels of non-public incomes.

Christopher Barron, Chief Executive of BRB said, ‘All of us at BRB look forward to welcoming Geoff to our Senior Management Team.

The Company is at a unique time in its history with a number of exciting opportunities to pursue both in the UK and abroad.

Geoff comes well-equipped to work with the BRB team to help realise the future vision of the company, and broaden the company's funding base'.

This vital role within BRB will support the increase in newly commissioned ballets and assist with the expansion of the Company’s outreach and education activity.
