Birmingham Royal Ballet awarded for 'Outstanding Achievement in Dance'

Birmingham Royal Ballet received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance at the annual TMA awards on Saturday 20 October. The prize was given for February's performances of Stravinsky! a Celebration, consisting of Agon, Symphony in Three Movements, and Stravinsky Violin Concerto, in recognition of 'its stunning recreation of the legendary Balanchine/Stravinsky collaboration'.
The prize was presented by actress Adjoa Andoh, and collected by Birmingham Royal Ballet's Chief Executive, Christopher Barron. Speaking after the event, Christopher commended all members of the Company, describing it as 'a fantastic achievement'.
Birmingham Royal Ballet perform further works by the composer in 2008, with Stravinsky: the real deal>, made up of Card Game, Le Baiser de la fée, and Petrushka. Click here for further details.
In related news, Carol Anne Millar has been nominated for the Spotlight Award: Classical Female in the 2007 Critics' Circle National Dance Awards. The awards ceremony will take place in January 2008 at the Royal Opera House. Further details TBC.
