Birmingham Royal Ballet appears on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing
November 1, 2007
Birmingham Royal Ballet is due to appear on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. The programme, which sees a selection of couples perform ballroom routines each week, in an attempt to avoid being voted off, has become one of the channel's most popular entertainment programmes, with the current series already being watched by over 7 million viewers each week.
Birmingham Royal Ballet have been invited to perform an excerpt from Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs as part of the results show on Sunday night. The piece, which made up part of the company's recent autumn tour, sees couples perform various different styles of ballroom to songs by Frank Sinatra.
Alexander Campbell, Samara Downs, Momoko Hirata, Victoria Marr, Tom Rogers and Tyrone Singleton will all perform a version of 'My Way'. The programme is to be broadcast at 6.50pm on Sunday 4 November, so be sure to tune in.
