Department for LearningMaypole Centre – The Shakespeare Suite WorkshopsDuring the February half term, Birmingham Royal Ballet Soloist Christopher Larsen and freelance pianist Andrew Kristy delivered workshops based on The Shakespeare Suite at the Maypole Centre. The workshops were aimed at a group of girls aged 14–16 years and used themes and ideas from the jazzy ballet. By the end of the three two-hour sessions the participants had learnt their own version of the opening section from the ballet and produced a short performance piece performed at the end of the sessions. |
