Beauty and the Beast workshopsDuring the 2008 autumn term, the Department for Learning will be running workshops based on the popular ballet Beauty and the Beast for schools in Birmingham, Sunderland and Plymouth. Delivered by an experienced Birmingham Royal Ballet dance artist and accompanied by a pianist, each workshop will give an insight into the ballet's themes, familiarising the participants with the ballet’s steps, gestures and their meanings. The workshops are available for Year 5 and 6 pupils and sessions will be structured around the school's timetable. Participating schools will receive up to three practical dance workshops with a maximum of 30 students in each class. Please note that the deadline for applications for these workshops has now passed. |
