Department for LearningSleeping Beauty workshopsDuring the 2010 Spring term, the Department for Learning ran workshops based on the popular ballet The Sleeping Beauty for schools in Birmingham, Sunderland, Salford and Plymouth. Delivered by an experienced Birmingham Royal Ballet dance artist and accompanied by a pianist, each workshop sought to provide an insight into the ballet's themes, familiarising the participants with the ballet’s steps, gestures and their meanings. The workshops were delivered to key stage 2 pupils, structured around the school's timetable. |
