Easter Workshops

During the Easter holidays the Dance Track 2nd Years visited Birmingham Royal Ballet studios and participated in a day of workshops. These workshops helped to prepare them for the forthcoming auditions for The Royal Ballet Junior Associates and Elmhurst’s Pre-Vocational Programme. The students all enjoyed the day and are looking forward to the auditions.

The Dance Track 1st Years enjoyed a ‘fun day’ with the Company. Their day included a workshop for the girls with Laëtitia Lo Sardo who taught them the Coppélia doll dance whilst the boys learnt the Combat dance also from Coppélia with Iain Mackay. All of the students were inspired after watching the dancers in their daily ballet class (with some of the boys trying out some of the big jumps that they had seen!). Both groups also took part in a craft workshop and their efforts will be judged by Laëtitia and Iain, the winners will be announced shortly and will win a Birmingham Royal Ballet goodie!

'I want to be like the ‘big’ people.'

'Today we learnt how to be a doll.'

'I’ve made lots of friends.'
