Arts Champions
Birmingham City Council teamed up with the major arts organisations in the city to let Birmingham residents get closer to the city’s world class arts offerings. The Arts Champions act as advocates for the arts sector giving advice and support within the community to promote and deliver new activities.
From 2007 to 2011 Birmingham Royal Ballet was Arts Champion for Selly Oak constituency. During this time we delivered a range of activities to all ages. To find out more follow the link to past projects under the local communities heading in the menu on the left.
In April 2011 we became Arts Champion for Perry Barr. Since then we have been out meeting people and making links in the constituency. We have been working with Nu Century Arts (www.nucenturyarts.co.uk), supported L’Antoinette Stines, a Jamaican dance artist and academic (L'Antoinette Stines), and been involved in the Simmer Down Festival in Handsworth Park.

Dance Artists needed!
In October 2012 Birmingham Royal Ballet
is launching Any Which Way, an exciting new community project based
on Last Dance which will offer development and performance opportunities
for local dance artists and dance groups. Taking Last Dance as inspiration,
groups will be invited to put their own spin on the piece, interpreting it any
which way they like so all dance styles are welcome! To register your interest in the project or for further information,
