Working with the community
Dance has never been more popular than it is today thanks to television programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing, Got to Dance and So You Think You Can Dance and groups like Diversity and Flawless, all of which have caused a resurgence in the popularity in dance.
Dance can provide purposeful activity, build connections between generations and communities, and create events and opportunities for people to come together. It is an appealing activity for people of all generations and promotes general and emotional well being, physical fitness and healthy attitudes to body and lifestyle choices.
We work with community groups in Birmingham and areas where the company tour. This is often the only opportunity these groups have of engaging with a ballet company and for many it is often the first opportunity to dance. Groups range in age from four to 104 and activities are tailored to suit the needs of the group with the emphasis on enjoying and achieving.
