London autumn dates confirmed
May 29, 2008
Birmingham Royal Ballet have confirmed a week of performances at Sadler's Wells Theatre in London this autumn. Tickets are not yet on sale, but details will appear in the 'What's On' section as soon as booking is open.
The Company performs Beauty and the Beast, 28-30 October. The week is then completed with a programme of three one-act ballets, The Firebird, Michael Corder's new Le Baiser de la fée, and Petrushka, 31 October-1 November. You can find out more about each work by clicking on the underlined links.
David Bintley, Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, said of the dates: 'This tour is a great opportunity for a wider audience to see Michael [Corder]'s new version of Le Baiser de la fée. Michael's been creating the ballet this spring for its summer premiere in Birmingham, because that's when he could come over and work on it, but I always wanted to tour the piece nationally and to let more people see it. And of course it's great to do The Firebird again as it was so successful last time with audiences and critics alike.'
All four pieces tour to Cardiff and Edinburgh, while Beauty and the Beast also appears in Plymouth and Sunderland. Tickets are on sale now. Click each location for more details.
