2010 USA tour confirmed
06 August 2009
Birmingham Royal Ballet will be returning to America in 2010, with dates at Chrysler Hall, in Norfolk, Virgina.
The Company performs Swan Lake, 7-9 May. Tickets are not yet on sale, however the venue's website can be found at www.sevenvenues.com.
The visit follows 2007's immensely successful performances at the venue, which saw the Company perform The Sleeping Beauty as part of the Virginia Arts Festival. As the festival's own write-up of the show noted:
'The Ballet charmed its Festival audiences, including hundreds of area school children, ballet students longing to see the exquisitedancers of this renowned troupe, and groups who traveled from across the country to Norfolk for this special engagement. And they charmed the critics as well.
'The Norfolk Virginian-Pilot's Jan Gaillard proclaimed the performance "a magical evening—a beautifully danced ballet with all the trimmings of pageantry, grand and spectacular." Judith Hatcher of PortFolio Weekly called it "perfection... From the grand prologue to the glittering finale, a polished palette [of] pastel colors, lush fabrics, magnificent scenery... forming a grand frame for the... loveliest dancers on earth."'

Additional note:
