BRB dancers guesting at Royal Festival Hall
22 June 2007
Birmingham Royal Ballet will be contributing to Ballet for the People, a special dance gala on 14 and 15 July 2007. The event, which celebrates the re-opening of the Royal Festival Hall following two years of refurbishment, is curated by Ballet Boyz Michael Nunn and William Trevitt, who will also be performing.
Chi Cao and Nao Sakuma [click names for biographies] will be representing BRB at the event, dancing the pas de deux from Marius Petipa's Diana and Acteon, with music by Riccardo Drigo. Petipa contributed choreography to a number of pieces in BRB's current season, including Paquita, Swan Lake and Giselle.
The Royal Ballet Sinfonia, the orchestra of Birmingham Royal Ballet, will be performing for the event, conducted by Paul Murphy [click name for biography]. www.southbankcentre.
