All South-West and North-East tour dates on sale nowFebruary 1, 2008 Tickets at all seven of the touring venues on the forthcoming Summer tour of the North-East and South-West are now on sale. The Company performs Concerto barocco, Twilight and Take Five in King's Lynn, Durham and York, and Dante Sonata, Small Worlds and Elite Syncopations in Cheltenham, Poole, Exeter and Truro. Visit www.brb.org.uk/Whatson for further details. The tour, which sees the Company split in two to tour half of the country each, is now in its fifth year. Speak of the success, Birmingham Royal Ballet's Artistic Director David Bintley said: 'I think it's a successful part of what we do because it definitely allows us to go to places where we don’t normally go, and I think it's popular with the Company because they genuinely get the chance to do things that they would not normally do, smaller-scale repertory that maybe is not so suitable for our big performances in larger venues. 'Last year when I was on the southern end of the tour and we were doing Take Five for the first time - which was a very happy experience anyway – I loved it, I absolutely loved that tour. We started off in Truro, and the stages got smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller! We ended up in Cheltenham where I'd never been before, and it's an absolutely delightful place, in absolutely the tiniest theatre that I think the Company could ever have danced in. And I loved it. And of course, one of the wonderful things about that tour was Carol-Anne Millar doing Pineapple Poll, which I think was largely why she's recently won the Critics Circle Award'. ENDS |
