Guests artists for spring seasonJanuary 20, 2007 Joe Cipolla and Robert Tewsley have been confirmed as dancing with Birmingham Royal Ballet for the Company's spring season of performances. The Company will be presenting Stravinsky! a Celebration 2007 and David Bintley's new production of Cyrano. Joe Cipolla, originally from New York, was previously a member of Birmingham Royal Ballet when the Company was based in London, under the name of Sadler's Wells Royal ballet. As a Principal, he performed leading roles including Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Prince Florimund in Sleeping Beauty, Drosselmeyer and the Prince in The Nutcracker and both Romeo and Tybalt in Kenneth MacMillan's Romeo and Juliet. He has created roles in ballets by David Bintley before, including Hobson's Choice, Sylvia, Edward II, Arthur, The Nutcracker Sweeties and The Shakespeare Suite. He will be performing in David Bintley's new production of Cyrano in Birmingham and on tour, dancing the role of De Guiche. Robert Tewsley has previously danced for a rang of companies including The Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Australian ballet, New York City Ballet and Stuttgart Ballet. He will be performing in both Cyrano and Symphony in Three Movements, part of Stravinsky! a Celebration 2007.
