Birmingham Royal Ballet's
Jerwood Centre for the Prevention and Treatment of Dance Injuries

Birmingham Royal Ballet's Jerwood Centre aims to provide world-class support for dancers to assist them in achieving their performance potential while with the Company and to ensure their health, well-being and quality of life afterwards. To achieve this the Centre strives to be a world leader in dance medicine and science, encompassing clinical service, education and research and state-of-the-art medical and rehabilitation facilities.

Birmingham Royal Ballet is one of the founding partner organisations of the National Institute of Dance, Medicine and Science, whose mission is to promote the development, implementation, and dissemination of scientific knowledge and evidence-based practice centred on the promotion and optimisation of health, well-being, and performance in dance through health care, research and education. NIDMS currently has three healthcare centres in the UK: an NHS clinic based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London and private specialist dance healthcare services offered by Laban Health in London and Birmingham Royal Ballet's Jerwood Centre in Birmingham.
