Kandis Cook
Kandis Cook, Costumes, first worked with BRB on Stanton Welchıs
Powder; her other work with Welch includes Taiko for San Francisco Ballet,
Finger Print for Cincinnati Ballet and, most recently, Velocity, for
Australian Ballet. She has previously worked with choreographer Kim
Brandstrup on his full-length ballet Queen of Spades for Les Grands Ballets
Canadiennes and designed costumes for his Psyche (Royal Danish Ballet) and
In the Garden of Joy and Sorrows (ARC ). She designed costumes for William
Tuckett's Turn of the Screw and two Channel 4 dance films. Her designs for
the RSC include costumes for King Lear and Beauty and the Beast; she has
also designed for Henry IV parts 1 and 2, The Tempest, Luminosity, Henry V,
The Last Days of Don Juan, Epiceone, Bite of the Night and Arden of
Faversham. Her theatre designs include Lynne Parker's Tartuffe (Abbey
Theatre, Dublin), Hamlet (Donmar), It's a Mad World my Masters
(Shakespeareıs Globe), The Promise (Everyman, Liverpool), The Faith Healer,
Women beware Women, The Grace of Mary Travers, Pale Horse (Royal Court),
Portia Coughlan (Abbey Theatre / Royal Court), Dr Faustus, Britannicus,
Berenice (Lyric Hammersmith), Love's Labours Lost and Richard II (Royal
Exchange, Manchester), costumes for Medea (Opera North), Orlando (Wexford),
costume designer for the film The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes directed by
Brothers Quay. She is currently working on this season's RSC productions of
Antony and Cleopatra and Julius Caesar.
