Brandon LawrenceBorn in Bradford, Brandon Lawrence trained at the Nydza School of Dance, Bingley, and the Royal Ballet School, where his repertory included Kenneth MacMillan’s Concerto, Alastair Marriott’s Schrumpf, Stanton Welch’s Les Jeunes Hommes and Parrish Maynard’s Fractals. With The Royal Ballet he danced in La Valse and Giselle, and he performed in Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Cinderella. He joined the Company in 2011 and his repertory includes: Frederick Ashton: La Fille mal gardée David Bintley: Beauty and the Beast (Birds of the Air) and Far from the Madding Crowd Tumbler) John Cranko: Pineapple Poll Jessica Lang: Lyric Pieces Ninette de Valois: Checkmate (Black Castle) Peter Wright: The Nutcracker (Soldier, Arabian dance) and Coppélia ('Call to Arms'). AWARDS joint winner of a Phyllis Bedells Award (2008) and a finalist in the 2008 and 2009 Young British Dancer of the Year competitions. Last updated September 2012 |
