Helen Fownes-Davies



Helen Fownes-Davies gradated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA (Hons) Theatre Design degree in 1995. The following year Helen was appointed a Resident Designer at the Arts and Education Centre in Nottingham and for six years designed numerous productions and ran many theatre arts courses for adults and young people. After becoming freelance again, Helen has enjoyed producing designs for theatre at many different levels. Recent theatre credits include: Ballet Hoo! costume re-design (collaboration between Birmingham Royal Ballet and Channel 4), The Kiss, The Retirement of Tom Stevens and A Who's Who of Flapland (Lakeside Theatre, Nottingham), Misery and Our Day Out (Harrogate Theatre), I Have Been Here Before, Whisky Galore! The Making of a Fillum, Satin 'n' Steel and The Man Who (Nottingham Playhouse) Momentum Festival (Theatre Writing Partnership, Lakeside Theatre, Nottingham), The Emperor's New Clothes, The Snow Queen, Arabian Nights and The Firebird (mac Birmingham) Safahr (Birmingham Royal Ballet) The Selkie Girl and The Emerald Cave (The Playhouse TIE, Birmingham), Two Minutes Silence (Focus Productions). Touring shows include: Booty Call (Big Creative Ideas), Natural Breaks and Rhythms (Northampton Theatre Royal and Theatre Writing Partnership), 21 Tales (The Fionnbarr Factory, touring dance), The Elves and the Shoemaker (mac Birmingham), Bowled A Googly (OTTC and New Perspectives) The Bad One (Women and Theatre). Chalk Stories, Zagazoo, Nightmaze, Come With Me and Stepping Stones (Roundabout Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse), Acts of Love, Brethren and 3 Tales of Courage (Eclipse Theatre).
