Yasuo Atsuji



Yasuo Atsuji was born in Tochigi, Japan. He trained at the Chiyo Ishihara Ballet School and the Royal Ballet School, where he danced Birthday Offering (principal man). He joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2006 and his repertory includes The Nutcracker (Rose Fairy Consorts), The Sleeping Beauty (Bluebird, Cavalier), Romeo and Juliet (Mandolin Dance lead), Concerto (Second movement), Card Game (Six of Hearts), 'Still Life' at the Penguin Café ('Now Nothing') and Cinderella(Prince's Friend). In 2010 he joined the National Ballet of Japan in Tokyo; there he danced principal roles in The Nutcracker, Anna Karenina, Cinderella, Giselle and Don Quixote. He rejoined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2013.
