Charles Balfour
Charles Balfour has designed extensively for dance, theatre and music,
lighting over 200 shows since 1987 and working extensively with Richard Alston
since 1996. His numerous other dance design includes work with Matthew Hawkins,
Martin Lawrence, Rosemary Butcher, Aletta Collins, Seven Sisters Group, David
Massingham and Rambert. His recent theatre work includes: Woyzek (Gate
Theatre); Amadeus (Derby Playhouse); Country Music (Royal Court);
Through the Leaves (Duchess, West End); Thérèse Raquin
and Bash (Glasgow Citizens) and Witness (Gate). Recent music/opera
work includes: Writing to Vermeer (London Sinfonietta, QEH) and
Jordan Town (Errollyn Wallen, Linbury Studio).
