This breathtaking programme presents a work from Birmingham Royal Ballet’s awardwinning Director, alongside thrilling excerpts from some of the worldfamous classics with which Birmingham Royal Ballet has made its name.

ALLEGRI DIVERSI
Full of quivering jumps and turns, dance phrases that freeze into glitteringly unpredictable poses, and speeds that reach apparently impossible highs, Allegri diversi is a sparklingly energetic classical ballet to Rossini’s bubbly score. David Bintley’s choreography will leave you breathless.

BITESIZED BALLET
Three of the best bits from the Company’s current repertory: Titania and Oberon’s romantic pas de deux from Frederick Ashton’s The Dream, an excerpt from Act I of one of the great 19th-century comedies, Petipa and Delibes’ Coppélia, and the stunning, virtuoso grand pas de deux and solos from the greatest of all classical ballets, Petipa and Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty.

LA FILLE MAL GARDÉE
Frederick Ashton’s famous country comedy tells the tale of the love between Lise and Colas, and Lise’s efforts to thwart her overlypossesive mother’s plan to marry her off to a rich, unattractive vineyard owner! Featuring comedy, drama and beautiful virtuoso dancing, these excerpts will give you a taste of the whole ballet, including the flute dance, Fanny Elsler pas de deux and the famous clog dance.
