Jean-Paul Vroom
Jean-Paul Vroom was born in 1922, in The Hague. He studied at the Royal Academy there, leaving at 16 for Paris. There he made countless engravings, lithograths and paintings. The design for Becket's Waiting for
Godot was his first work or theatre. During the 1960s he became interested in photography and he directed a number of films. His close collaboration with choreographer Hans van Manen is apparent in the many designs Vroom has made for Van Manen's ballets over the years.
