All about ballet
The audience 2
The audience are one of the most important parts of a performance, as they enjoy the show, and provide energy to the dancers on the stage.
Recently, some of Birmingham Royal Ballet's dancers visited Monton Green Primary School in Salford to do a ballet workshop with a group of Year 3 and 4 children. They wrote to us afterwards to tell us what they thought. Here are a few excerpts from their letters.
'I am writing to say thank you for coming to our school. I enjoyed every little bit of it. I enjoyed it so much, I am really looking forward to the day when I can come to see the ballet Coppélia at the Birmingham Royal Ballet.'
'I am writing to say THANK YOU for coming in to teach us ballet. I enjoyed it very, very, very, very, very, very, very much!!! If I were a judge I would give you both 10 out of 10!!!'
'I am writing to say thank you for coming and doing ballet and showing us lots of cool things that you do in ballet.'
'You taught us a lot about side stage and things like that, you told us how to behave like proper ballerinas.'
'My favourite part was when you showed us your tricks because you had a lot of them, my best was the splits.'
'My favourite part of the story is where Swanilda dresses up as Coppélia and Dr Coppélius gets tricked by Swanilda dressing up as Coppélia. I loved it when someone was pretending to be Dr Coppélius and you were mixing potions to create a drink to make Franz fall asleep.'
'I liked it so much when Darren was Dr Coppélius and Laura was a marvelous actress when she played Coppélia. I really liked it when Darren did a spin and the splits! I also enjoyed the music that Steven played.'
'I also liked it when Darren did all of his fancy tricks because it was amazing. I thought it would be no fun and just hard work but thanks to you two I had a great time.'
