Support Us / Appeals / Ballet Now

Each year Ballet Now will provide the participating artists with a bursary, studio time, use of Birmingham Royal Ballet dance and orchestral personnel, a production budget and, importantly, a commitment that their work will be performed by Birmingham Royal Ballet in Birmingham and London.

Ballet Now would not be possible without the generous support of a number of organisations, trusts and individuals, particularly Oak Foundation’s Special Interest Programme, which provided major funding for the project. Ballet Now is also supported by the Foyle Foundation, Anthony Coombs and The Keith Coombs Trust, The Big Give 2017, The John Feeney Charitable Trust, The Leche Trust, The John S Cohen Foundation, The H Steven and PE Wood Charitable Trust, The W and M Morris Charitable Trust, the estate of Judith and John Percival, Birmingham Royal Ballet’s New Work Syndicate 2017 and Director’s Appeal 2017.

The Ballet Now fundraising target of £2,200,000 will enable Birmingham Royal Ballet, in partnership with Sadler’s Wells, to commission two new ballets each year for five years, including new choreography, new designs and a new score for each. Thanks to the generosity of the supporters mentioned previously, we are already over halfway towards meeting this funding target.

By supporting Ballet Now, you can become part of what is currently the UK’s largest commitment to the creation of new, large-scale ballet. If you would like to support the next shining lights in the worlds of ballet, music and theatrical design, please contact Jessica Armson on 0121 245 3545 or at jessicaarmson@brb.org.uk
