Awards: First Place in both Classical Ballet and Contemporary at the 2026 YAGP Boston Semi-Final, followed by competing at the YAGP Finals in Houston. First Place in Classical Ballet at the Taiwan Grand Prix in both 2024 and 2025.

Favourite BRB ballet: The Nutcracker is very special to me because I had the opportunity to perform in it with BRB while I was still training at Elmhurst. It was one of my first experiences performing with a professional company, so coming back to BRB as a professional dancer makes it even more meaningful.

Favourite full-length ballet: Don Quixote is my favourite full-length ballet. I love its energy, music and exciting male variations. I also enjoy how much personality and character you can bring to the roles.

First ballet you saw: The first ballet I remember seeing was The Nutcracker. I was fascinated by the music, costumes and atmosphere on stage. At the time, I never imagined that years later I would have the opportunity to perform The Nutcracker with Birmingham Royal Ballet myself, which makes it even more special to me.

Favourite ballet score: I really enjoy Tchaikovsky’s ballet scores. I love how powerful and emotional his music can be and how naturally it connects with movement.

What inspired you to start dancing: I actually started dancing because I had far too much energy as a child! My mum thought dance would be a good way for me to use some of that energy and hopefully come home tired enough to sleep. What started as a fun way to keep me active slowly became something I really loved, and eventually became the career I wanted to pursue.

Dream role: My dream role is Basilio in Don Quixote. I love the energy and personality of the character, as well as the technical challenges of the role. It is a role I would love to have the opportunity to perform one day.

Most enjoyable on-stage experience: Performing The Nutcracker with Birmingham Royal Ballet while I was still a student. Being on stage with a professional company was very exciting and made joining BRB later feel even more special.

Career if not a dancer: If I wasn’t a professional dancer, I would probably become a ballet teacher. I would enjoy using my experience to help younger dancers improve and find their own enjoyment in ballet.

Proudest off-stage moment: One of my proudest moments was finding out that I had been offered the opportunity to join Birmingham Royal Ballet after my audition. After years of training, being welcomed into the company was a very special moment for me.

More about me: I was born in Taiwan and moved to the UK to train at Elmhurst Ballet School. Moving abroad at a young age taught me to be independent and gave me the opportunity to pursue ballet seriously. After training at Elmhurst and having the chance to perform with BRB as a student, I am very excited to begin my professional career with Birmingham Royal Ballet.
