We’re delighted to introduce our new Head of Fundraising, Husne Begum, who joined us earlier this year.
Husne steps into this newly created role within the Company to lead the Development team, following former Director of Development Rachael Magson’s appointment as Director of Income Generation.
Here Husne tells us about her experience at BRB so far.

Its been two months since I started at BRB as the new Head of Fundraising. What a whirlwind it’s been! With two exceptionally high-quality events delivered in such a short space of time, its already been a brilliantly busy start.
I am so excited to be part of Birmingham Royal Ballet and to have joined such a talented and enthusiastic team. I bring 25 years of experience in fundraising, much of it within the arts sector. BRB is such a vibrant and ambitious organisation, which really resonated with me when I applied for the role.
As a fundraiser of 25 years, working across many income streams, my passion is building relationships with people. I love working with others and helping them find ways to achieve their philanthropic goals. I think of fundraising as a journey, where fundraiser and donor work together over time to create meaningful impact through shared goals.
Going forward, my focus is on getting to know our donors, identifying those shared goals and ensuring that the vision for Birmingham Royal Ballet is successfully realised.
