LEAP Ambassadors

A free professional development programme for young people aged 16-25

Led by the Learning, Engagement, Access & Participation department, Birmingham Royal Ballet offers a unique opportunity for young people who are considering a career in the arts to investigate behind the scenes, experience projects and productions, develop new skills and knowledge and connect with arts professionals.

LEAP Ambassadors receive group training sessions delivered by BRB staff, which offer insight into the range of departments and job roles in the industry, with a focus on backstage and non-performing careers. Ambassadors also participate in individual training where there is the chance to directly shadow a member of staff and gain ‘hands on’ experience working on BRB projects and productions. At the end of the year Ambassadors have the opportunity to work together to curate a celebration event held in the Patrick Studio, Birmingham Hippodrome, to highlight their learning and achievements on the programme.

What’s more, LEAP Ambassadors get exclusive free access to watch Company class and rehearsals, a backstage tour of the building, including workshops and studios, tickets to BRB performances, a dance masterclass, as well as the opportunity to take over our social media and support BRB with various workshops and events throughout the year.

This year’s programme runs November 2024 to July 2025 and is flexible around education, work and commitments.
