Get Involved

Dance offers great learning opportunities for children throughout their school career, giving opportunities to learn new skills, be active, have fun, gain confidence and widen aspirations. It combines the elements of physicality, creativity and performance, and can be used to provide a variety of compelling learning experiences.

Birmingham Royal Ballet works on a variety of projects with schools and colleges in Birmingham, and in and around the towns and cities we visit on our UK tours. Current schools' projects are listed here when available.

We also offer a number of teachers' packs to support GCSE and A level course work (see below).

If you would like to find out more about working with us, contact the Department for Learning on 0121 245 3500.

Ballet In A Box 2

BALLET UNBOXED

Step into one of the world’s most magical Christmas stories with Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Our new Ballet Unboxed, based on The Nutcracker, offers dance, live music and cross-curricular projects, and includes a CPD package to give you, the teacher, the skills you need to deliver all the content.

Ballet Unboxed is designed for pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2, but can be adapted for each individual school’s requirements.

The project is fun, exciting and practical, it gives children the opportunity to dance to live music and to listen to and enjoy Tchaikovsky’s enchanting score. They’ll love learning in this artistic and creative way, working together and developing social skills.

Booking opens in the spring for workshop spaces through September to December 2022. Please contact katherinefield@brb.org.uk if you would like to register interest in Ballet Unboxed.
