Appointment of new Board members 2025
Birmingham Royal Ballet is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who would be interested in joining the Board of Birmingham Royal Ballet as a trustee and non executive director.
The Board is the governing board of the company. It comprises 11 non executive directors (who are also charitable trustees) with responsibility for agreeing the company’s overall mission and strategic and artistic direction, approving its budgets and ensuring its financial resilience, agreeing key policies, including its general treasury and risk management policies and appointing and holding to account the company’s senior leaders, including the Chef Executive and Artistic Director. We are looking for at least two new board members to replace the current members who reach the end of their term this autumn.

We are looking to appoint two new non-executive Directors to replace those who reach the end of their term in 2025.
Successful candidates will have a demonstrable enthusiasm for music and dance, the time and commitment to participate fully in the work of the board, and an understanding of and preferably experience of the demands on the management and funding of arts organisations or a charity. While we are looking for a diverse range of experience, skills and background, we are particularly looking to recruit an individual with experience of
- financial and budgetary expertise, who may also be a qualified accountant.
While successful candidates may come from any part of the country, we would particularly welcome interest from those with strong links with Birmingham or the wider West Midlands.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the continuing development of one of the country’s leading dance companies. While the role is unremunerated, reasonable expenses are paid and board members are encouraged and expected to come to see a good number of performances each year.
