Alexander Bird was born in Truro, and trained at the Royal Ballet School. As a student he danced with The Royal Ballet where his repertory included The Nutcracker and The Rite of Spring, and with Birmingham Royal Ballet in The Prince of the Pagodas, Les Rendezvous and Elite Syncopations. His awards include the Dame Ruth Award and a commendation at Young British Dancer of the Year. He joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2014.
