Ruth Brill is a freelance Choreographer and the Artistic Director of London Children’s Ballet. She trained at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and English National Ballet School. She danced with English National Ballet (2007-12) and Birmingham Royal Ballet (2012-19). Ruth’s commissions for Birmingham Royal Ballet include Rhapsody in Blue (2014), Matryoshka (2015), Arcadia (2017) and Peter and The Wolf (2019). She recently re-staged Cathy Marston’s Ballet Shoes for London Children’s Ballet (2019) and was the interim Artistic Director/Choreographer for National Youth Ballet (2019). Ruth has also choreographed work for New English Ballet Theatre, Future Dreams Charity Gala at the London Palladium (2018), community Flashmobs for Birmingham Weekender (2015, 2017) and The Rugby World Cup Welcoming Ceremony for England (2015). Ruth’s television work includes BBC News, An American in Paris at the Royal Variety Performance, Peace One Day Concert at the O2, Concert for Diana at Wembley Stadium and the Cecchetti Legacy Project at the Royal Opera House. Ruth also has a strong interest in outreach work and has delivered development programmes internationally.
