Yaoqian Shang

Soloist

Born in China, Yaoqian Shang trained at Beijing Dance Academy and the Royal Ballet Upper School. As a student she danced with The Royal Ballet and La Scala Ballet Company in repertory including The Nutcracker, The Dream, The Firebird, La Bayadère and Symphony in C. She has won several awards including The Royal Ballet De Valois Award for most outstanding graduate (2013). She joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2013 and was promoted to Soloist in 2016.
