News Story

For Black History Month, BRB Principal Céline Gittens paid a special visit to a Dance Track class, sharing her journey in ballet and her inspiration with some of our youngest students.

It was an evening filled with wisdom, joyful movement, and meaningful connection, celebrating Black excellence in dance and the power of role models to inspire the next generation.

It was truly inspirational to have had the opportunity to experience a Dance Track class. It was a safe space for the children to learn ballet from highly skilled professionals in this art form and to experience having a pianist play live music for the class! Birmingham and the West Midlands have such a diverse and rich culture, and I could not be more grateful for the Dance Track programme and team who dedicate their time to educating our community about dance and Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Céline Gittens, Principal Dancer

Thank you, Céline, for inspiring the future of ballet! And thank you to the generous funders of Dance Track for keeping our smallest dancers dancing!
