Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA)

We are committed to being an organisation that is open, caring, and reflective – of the world we live in, the people we work with, and the stories we choose to tell. That means removing barriers, fostering belonging, and ensuring that everyone who encounters BRB — as an artist, colleague, collaborator, audience member, or community partner — feels genuinely welcome and valued.

We pursue this through our IDEA principles:
Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access. These shape how we make decisions, how we behave, and how we hold ourselves accountable — internally, and to the wider world.

Our IDEA Committee, established in 2023, guides this work through five commitments:
Demonstrating care — creating environments where everyone can work and participate safely and with dignity.
Actively listening — building a culture that is responsive, honest, and always learning.
Representing — ensuring our organisation and our artistry reflect the breadth of our region, our country, and the wider world.
Connecting — reducing barriers to access and deepening our relationships across communities.
Championing — leading by example, within the sector and beyond it.
