Anthony Coombs was born in Birmingham and now lives between there, London and California.

He is chairman of FTSE listed finance company, S&U PLC and is also a director and founder of Grevayne Properties, a fifty-year-old Midlands based house builder, investor and developer.

He sits on the boards of the National Institute for Conductive Education, dealing with movement disabilities and Premier Christian Media, one of the world’s largest Christian broadcasters. Ten years ago he set up the Keith Coombs Trust in memory of his father, which disburses funds, usually to children’s based causes throughout the UK.

He has recently published “Bobby and Bubba’s Small Adventures” in honour of his son’s two bulldogs who live with and dominate the family.

His other interests include politics. He was a Member of Parliament and junior minister between 1987 and 1997 and before that a councillor in Birmingham.

He also finds time to play golf, go to games and watch Aston Villa.
