As a conductor, Christopher has worked extensively across the UK and Europe with orchestras including the BBC Orchestras, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia, l'Orchestre National de Lille, l'Opéra de Rouen, Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony, Århus Sinfonietta, Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen, and Sinfonia Varsovia. He has been a tireless champion for new music, giving world and regional premieres of over 200 works by composers including Hans Abrahamsen, Malcolm Arnold, Diana Burrell, Peter Maxwell Davies, Tansy Davies, Per Nørgård, Olga Neuwirth, Joby Talbot and Raymond Warren. Recent work includes workshopping a new musical by Pet Shop Boys and music direction for the Théâtre de Champs-Élysées’ Gala celebrating the centenary of Joséphine Baker’s début in Paris.
