Isabel McMeekan was a First Soloist with The Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet. She trained at Elmhurst ballet school and The Royal Ballet Upper School. She has danced in all of the classical repertory, travelling the world with both companies as well as creating roles in new works. In her final performance, she danced the title role in MacMillan’s Isadora.

After retiring, she set up Everybody Ballet, teaching ballet classes to adults. She participated in the Frederick Ashton Foundation’s shadowing scheme, set up to train the Ashton répétiteurs of the future. She also was the Artistic Producer of the Frederick Ashton Foundation, and is currently a principal coach for The Royal Ballet.

Isabel is a trustee of Ambers Fund, which supports one act ballets and new creations, as well as a Governor of The Royal Ballet Companies. She also volunteers at The Listening Place.
