Age: 22

Where are you from? Wakefield

I am currently… in my fourth year at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire studying classical clarinet. I began playing the piano when I was five and then picked up the clarinet and saxophone a few years later. At the moment I am focussing on my final project which is about making music accessible for everyone. I graduate in July and hope to go into music education and inclusivity.

I am on the Creative Pathways programme because… I wanted to meet new people also interested in the creative arts. The theatre setting is more unknown to me as a musician and I’m excited to learn more about the behind the scenes of how shows and rehearsals are run, and all the different teams that go into putting a performance on stage.

What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about both cooking and baking, I look forward to going home and making my dinner every single night, it’s my favourite part of every day. I don’t stop talking about it.

An interesting fact about me is… I have a bearded dragon called Kylie, she’s orange and she very nearly came to live with me in Birmingham (sadly I don’t think my landlord would be too happy with that).

My first encounter with Birmingham Royal Ballet was… seeing the Nutcracker advertised around Christmas time when I was in my first year at university!

If I had to eat one meal for the rest of my life it would be… soup! I spend all afternoon on a Sunday making my soup for the week, my favourite one to make at the moment is minestrone, with cheese scones.
