Peter Mumford,Lighting designer, has previously worked with David Bintley at Birmingham Royal Ballet on The King Dances, Edward II, Carmina burana, The Nutcracker Sweeties, Arthur (parts 1 and 2), E=mc² and Faster. His recent theatre designs include: Ghosts (also West End and BAM), Bakkhai (Almeida); Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Top Hat (West End); High Society (Old Vic); Mr. Foote’s Other Leg (Hampstead). His recent opera and dance designs include: Carmen (Miami City Ballet); Ein Reigen (Vienna State Ballet); Katya Kabanova (Boston Lyric Opera); Manon Lescaut (Baden Baden); Werther (Metropolitan Opera); La Traviata (Glyndebourne); The Damnation of Faust, Madam Butterfly (ENO); Peter has directed and designed concert versions of The Flying Dutchman and The Ring Cycle for Opera North. His Awards include: 1995 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance for The Glass Blew In (Siobhan Davies) and Fearful Symmetries (Royal Ballet), 2003 Olivier Lighting Award for The Bacchai (National Theatre), Knight of Illumination Award in 2010 for Sucker Punch (Royal Court) and the Helpmann and Green Room Awards for Best Lighting for King Kong (Regent Theatre, Melbourne) in 2013.
