Choreographer, filmmaker, and Guggenheim Fellow, Pontus Lidberg has created works for numerous companies worldwide, including Paris Opera Ballet, New York City Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, and his own group, Pontus Lidberg Dance. His dance films The Rain and Labyrinth Within received multiple awards, and his feature film Written on Water, starring Aurélie Dupont, premiered at the International Festival of Films on Art in Montréal in 2021. Raised in Stockholm, he trained at the Royal Swedish Ballet School and the Conservatoire de Paris. He holds an MFA in Contemporary Performing Arts from the University of Gothenburg. He directed Danish Dance Theatre (2018–2023) and became director of Ballet de l’Opéra de Nice in 2024.
