On World Ballet Day 2025, Birmingham Royal Ballet joined ballet organisations across the UK in announcing the formation of Access Ballet Collective. 

This newly established network is working collaboratively to explore how ballet can become more accessible and equitable.

BRB hosted the launch event on Thursday 22 January.

The Collective intends to:

  • Build connections and share best practice in accessible engagement and performance
  • Identify and examine barriers to access in ballet, informed by lived experience and organisational practice
  • Support member organisations to implement practical, measurable change
