We're in the hallway of the Stahlbaums' beautiful Victorian home. To the left is a giant Christmas tree, standing next to a sweeping staircase. There are presents under the tree, and one of the servants is standing on a stepladder lighting the candles on the tree while Mrs Stahlbaum supervises and one of the maids stands by. On the other side of the room is a grand fireplace set into a wall covered with many large paintings in ornate gold frames. The wallpaper throughout the room is a rich red. In the centre to the back is a window showing a dark blue night sky.

Have you worked for BRB or SWRB in the past?

If so, we’d love you to join us for a special alumni reunion on Sunday 20 November at Birmingham Hippodrome and help celebrate the unveiling of Sir Peter Wright’s beautifully restored production of The Nutcracker.

The event starts at 12 noon, prior to the 1pm performance of The Nutcracker, and runs all afternoon until about 5pm. There will be refreshments, nibbles and plenty of opportunities to catch up with former friends and colleagues, and we hope Sir Peter himself will be in attendance.

For those who want to see the freshly restored production, there's a special discount for alumni.

Join the chat on the BRB Alumni Facebook page or email alumni@brb.org.uk. To help us keep track of numbers, please email us at the same email address to confirm your attendance.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
