About Beauty and the Beast

The first of David Bintley’s fairytale ballets and one of the most successful. A darkly gothic but family-friendly ballet with the relationship between Belle and the Beast intense and strongly painted. As well as a stunning set which literally opens like a book, the ballet also features Bintley’s trade-mark wit in a humorous wedding feast scene where Belle’s sisters’ suitor, Monsieur Cochon, cannot decide which of the two to marry!

A thing of monumental glory
