Delia Mathews was born in New Zealand and trained with Prue and Debbie Gooch, and at Dance Education Centre and the Royal Ballet School. She 2007 Prix de Lausanne Laureate and received the Dame Ninette de Valois Award for most outstanding graduate in 2008. She joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2008; First Artist, 2012; Soloist, 2014; First Soloist 2016.
