BRB’s autumn triple bill celebrates the marriage of music and movement. Two UK premieres bookend a world premiere on this unmissable mixed programme curated by Carlos Acosta, with each piece set to a major orchestral score performed live by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.

Much-missed German choreographer Uwe Scholz worked regularly with classical repertoire – and never more dramatically than in his setting of Beethoven’s vibrant Seventh Symphony, a work famously described by Wagner as‘the apotheosis of the dance’. Choreographer Morgann Runacre-Temple and composer Mikael Karlsson team up for the world premiere of Hotel, a surreal journey into the secrets and lies that live behind closed doors. And to close, Jiří Kylián’s magnificent Forgotten Land is‘a great primer to why Kylián is one of the most revered choreographers of the 20th century’(The Guardian) – a gripping journey into memory and loss set to Benjamin Britten’s magnificent Sinfonia da Requiem

Hotel is a Ballet Now commission. Ballet Now is generously supported by Oak Foundation’s Special Interest Programme. This production is supported by The Linbury Prize for Stage Design. The biennial Prize, the most important of its kind in the UK, brings together the best of emerging designers with professional theatre, dance and opera companies. The Linbury Prize for Stage Design is funded by the Linbury Trust. We are also grateful to the Marchus Trust and the Owen Family Trust for their support of Hotel.
