Meet the SinfoniaConcerts and tours
Royal Ballet Sinfonia has an extensive history of performing for Concerts and Tours in the UK and abroad, in addition to its busy ballet and recording schedule.
Most recently the Sinfonia played in Dorchester Abbey for the English Music Festival, performing a concert of works written or arranged by composer, Peter Warlock. The performance was such a success that the Warlock Society along with EM Records engaged the orchestra to record an album of Warlock’s works at the beautiful Henry Wood Hall.

The Sinfonia are highly experienced in a wide variety of genres, from classical music favourites to choral concerts with Ex Cathedra, and heavy metal orchestrated scores to film music. The orchestra regularly work with a wide variety of conductors on the concert platform, from our own Music Director, Paul Murphy, to Barry Wordsworth, John Wilson, John Andrews and Ex Cathedra’s Jeffrey Skidmore.
Other notable performances include accompanying the National Opera Studio for their annual gala performance, the Voice of Black Opera competition, concerts in China performing Ravel, Shostakovich and Debussy, and our annual performance of Music and Dance where the orchestra take centre-stage in Birmingham’s stunning Symphony Hall.
Our musicians also enjoy performing in small ensembles, from brass quintets to string quartets and string orchestras. We have regularly performed chamber music concerts at Plymouth’s Theatre Royal around BRB’s main season productions.
