BIRMINGHAM ROYAL BALLET ANNOUNCES HSBC UK TO SUPPORT ITS DANCE TRACK PROGRAMME AS PART OF ITS PRINCIPAL SPONSORSHIP DURING 2021/22

Birmingham Royal Ballet is thrilled to announce HSBC UK as its Principal Sponsor supporting the Company across 2021/22.

Like us, HSBC UK believes in supporting young people to reach or surpass their potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.

We are delighted that HSBC UK’s support in 2021/22 will support in particular our life-enhancing, and often life-changing Dance Track initiative which makes such a positive impact on everyone involved.

In 2022, Dance Track celebrates its 25th anniversary. This unique programme has auditioned around 36,000 pupils and offered free ballet workshops, tuition and associated activities to 3,244 children aged from six to eight during the last 25 years.

Its participants are talented children from primary schools across Birmingham who otherwise would be unlikely to engage with the Arts. The project has changed the life trajectories of a huge number of its participants, some of whom have gone on to study ballet at Elmhurst Ballet School and The Royal Ballet School, many have performed on the stage with Birmingham Royal Ballet and a number have gone on to become professional dancers.

Birmingham Royal Ballet looks forward to working with HSBC UK to celebrate 25 years of Dance Track, which will culminate with a Celebratory Performance in central Birmingham in May 2022. The Celebratory Performance will bring together past and current students, teachers, staff, parents and schools, to celebrate the achievements of the programme and all who have been involved in it. Carlos Acosta CBE, Artistic Director, Birmingham Royal Ballet said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working closely with HSBC UK as our Principal Sponsor across 2021/22 and extremely grateful for its support. We believe that ballet can change lives and is for everyone, everywhere. We are thankful to HSBC UK for supporting all our work and in particular for their alignment to the 25th anniversary of Dance Track.”
